Very Fearne: the latest in celeb style

Do you ever see a celebrity running from A-list soiree to high-profile fashion shoot to radio interview to telly interview to writing a column for a Sunday supplement, and think, “Crikey, how do they have time for anything?”

It’s something that occurs to us every time we spot Fearne Cotton – Radio 1 DJ, telly presenter, interviewer, artist and fashion designer with 12 clothing lines under her belt.

Indeed, in partnership with Very, Fearne has forged designs that would make Yves Saint Laurent jealous.

And it seems like she’s impressing more than just fashion blogs – the Very Fearne Cotton autumn/winter ’14 shoot has been making waves all over the press, opening up newcomers to her back catalogue.

Speaking to Glamour Magazine about her spring/summer collection last year, Fearne said, “I wanted it to be a really nice transitional spring/ summer collection. Our weather's not great so I wanted it to really be versatile and workable in our unpredictable weather.

“But it still needs to be wearable for stuff like festivals – as a lot of Very customers are girls that go to like Glastonbury, V, Bestival and want to wear really fun, cool bright clothing they can layer up. But there are also pieces that girls can wear on a night out in their local town.”

Mixing rocker chic with festival cool, Fearne has cornered the market for everything from casual glamour through to dinner party wear and winter woollies.

No matter what type of clothing she makes, every item features that inimitable Cotton touch – rock cool (possibly stemming from her marriage with Jessie Wood, son of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood) and girly glamour.

Speaking of her SS14 collection, Fearne said, "For SS14 I really wanted to keep an edge to my collection but add in an element of fun through print, pops of colour and quirky detail. I also wanted the pieces to be versatile and wearable, swing dresses are perfect for this as you can dress them up or down."

Combining high class with rock glam, Fearne’s collections have become the talk of the high street. So, what are our favourites for the coming year?

Shimmering silvers

This shimmering number is awash with silver and star patterns, evoking the feel of a beautiful starlit night. It’s perfect for a wild night on the tiles, giving you that excitable party girl vibe.

70s’ style revolution

The style of the 70s is really kicking off once again, andFearne is already in the loop. This yellow top and pencil skirt combination elegantly shows off your slinky hourglass figure, while the mustard colour gives this an old school look with a modern day twist.

The Goth rocker

Goths have always been hot on the fashion scene, so it’s good to see Fearne go full-blown rock goddess with this stylish black number. With an uncharacteristic puffed out bottom, this is the ideal dress for cocktail parties and rock concerts, merging two of Fearne’s major passions.

Smart and casual

A more casual look for the fashionista, this dress-down number still reeks of class. The sparkling trousers, especially, add a sense of effortless style to the number.

No matter the weather next spring, we can’t wait to see what other treats lie in store for Fearne’s collection. In the meantime we’ll just pore over the rest of her work.
