Our buyer, Jennifer is attending Paris Fashion Week and purchasing designer fashions for the spring 2012 season. She has been sending us tidbits and photos from Paris. It has been fun to see what is happening in Paris and being on the front for 2012 spring styles. There are thousands of buyers looking at collections and the models only get a few minutes of outside air on a 30C (90F) plus fall day. This model looks amazing even under hot temperatures and a non-stop day.
So what will we be seeing in spring 2012? Well don't throw out your rockabilly 50's clothes just yet as they are making a comeback in a good way, along with bright floral prints, geometric designs, out of Africa safari prints and sporty sportsware.
These ladies posing for Jennifer are handing out invites to the Italian spring 2012 shoe show. There are so many shoe stores from around the world attending Paris Fashion Week which makes it the perfect place to complete a shoe lover’s dream.
Continuing on with shoes, Jennifer stopped at her favorite hide away shoe store in Paris, Castañer’s. They are a small family owned boutique located on Rue Saint Honoré Street. They design and specialize in high end designer shoes. In 1960 they were approached by Yves Saint Laurent to produce the world's first ever wedge espadrille which today is still considered a luxury item on the runway. Castañer’s since 1927
Jennifer was having ice cream at midnight in Paris and said there were 50 customers in the store and only one server. We think she should get the “Customer Service” award for the day!
The colors you are seeing here have a few similarities with what we will be seeing in the spring. Purple, honey, sandstone along with canary, grass, poppy, geranium and hyacinth.
Only in Paris would you find a designer store for feather dusters and high end trash cans. We have to give them credit though for being on the cutting edge because spring 2012 collections will include feathers along with rich silks and sequins galore.
Paris by day features an Impromptu concert on Rue St Honoré which is the fashion street in Paris. This is the place to be to enjoy the best of fashion and top professional concerts. We hear it is unbelievably beautiful and romantic. Yes we are jealous back here at home but we are loving the updates.
Jennifer sent us a picture of Paris by night. She says it is warm, alive, vibrant, young and crazy.
Spring 2012 styles also will be warm, alive, vibrant but not too crazy.
