"Take Me To Your Leader"

That's So New YorkIt seems that recently I have been doing nothing but sitting indoors, sifting through the internet until I come across a designer who I can sit and think"well, isn't that just dandy" in regards to; I mean, I'm not complaining seeming that I won't deny the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the Summer period and that as soon as it hits November-time and we begin getting them forecasts which read something along the lines of "tomorrow there may be snow around 11:00AM" I do applaud the weather in a way, simply because I am the kinda guy who could sit indoors everyday with a cup of hot chocolate and a movie, and you wouldn't hear a peep out of me, well, not until I began demanding a traditional Sunday roast of-course. Despite the fact that my friends do seem to frequently scream the words "YOU'RE SO BORING!" in regards to my indoor-fever, I have to say that it is paying off! A day or two ago you may have heard me mention the name Moon Spoon Saloon; you may have also heard me utter the words "well that's for another post and a half" and yes, I stuck to my word and this is that additional "post and a half" indeed.

Previously I was simply going to grab a couple of my favorite Moon Spoon Saloon pieces and throw them on here; I was then going to ramble on about them for a while, mentioning what I liked in regards to each piece and the overall aesthetic of the label, yet of-course that would be a tad lazy, right? My mind instantly changed when I clicked on over to the Moon Spoon Saloon website and discovered the title (and the title alone) for their Fall/Winter 2011 collection; that being
"Take Me To Your Leader" (hence the post title) and what images does that title alone conjure up? ALIENS AND SPACE AND ROCKET SHIPS! (okay, in my mind at least) and if that was the image which your mind jumped too, then you would be spot on! On the actual website the label provided no images at all, (except one from their Fall/Winter 2011 campaign) and that of-course lead me on a time-absorbing hunt for some high-resolution images to accompany this post; I have to say, when I did come across a handful of images, my mind did think something along the lines of "these are not too shabby, wait .. these are not too shabby at all!" (accompanied by a hefty sigh of relief.)

At a first glimpse of each image, I was graced with the likes of galaxy-type prints which instantly triggered thoughts of the Christopher Kane Spring/Summer 2011menswear collection (you know the one where he used galaxy prints and slapped them across a selection of t-shirts, jackets and vests? yeah, that's the one) followed by a selection of printed platform-sneaker type shoes, plus a whole bunch of alien-face printed leggings and jackets, followed by some rather peculiar silver tinsel-type headdresses.
