The district police authority Höxter dedicated to the proper condition of bicycle and eBike on Monday, June 3, at the nationwide action day "Bicycle and Pedelec". In the whole county officials of the district service and the transport service, Höxter had special attention to the two-wheeler.
In the day, 29 bicycles and five pedelecs were inspected, five warrants were pronounced and control notes handed out. Means: A defect in the bike must be eliminated within a week, the regulatory bike then presented to the police. Three cyclists were caught with a mobile phone on the ear and also warned. Also, eleven cars and one truck were checked and four administrative offenses were reported as part of the controls.
The action day was accompanied by a joint information booth of the Verkehrswacht Kreis Höxter and the police Höxter in the city center of Bad Driburg. For the first time, the Verkehrswacht presented its new "Dark Tent". Carefully shielded from sunlight, the signal effect of reflective materials was visible in the tent. Safety vests spoke reflectors for bicycles and even reflective laces shone in the glow of a flashlight and gave an impression of how simple means can be used to increase safety.
