FotyMody Analytics: Kris Kulakovska.

FotyMody: What is more important for the designer: the daily hard work, or sudden muse?
Kris Kulakovska: Both are equally important. Painstaking work provides stability, and a muse – the good ideas. After all, the idea that comes with the muse should be brought to life – and you can’t make it without working.

FotyMody: Has it become fashionable to wear clothing from the Ukrainian designers?
Kris Kulakovska: It depends on what designers. There is a category of people who buy only because of the phrase “from the designer”, while the other wants to get exclusivity, the third is in search of quality, and the fourth supports the domestic producers. I do not have things from Ukrainian designers and I don’t grieve about it.

FotyMody: How important is education for a designer?
Kris Kulakovska: Not the education itself is important. It is important to speak the same language with the designer, tailor, painter, and so on. It is important to understand everything you create. I am a journalist by education. But it doesn’t prevent me to design things. I have a great constructor, who initiates me into all the details and gives private “lectures”. I trust this person for hundred percent and we have a mutual understanding. That is more important than any education.

FotyMody: What is street fashion for you?
Kris Kulakovska: It is fashion created in the street. This is fashion of students and young people up to 35 years. We create it by ourselves. Or follow the opinions of authoritative persons in our sphere. It is the mix of comfort, quality, democracy and the same exclusivity.

FotyMody: At what level is the Ukrainian fashion?
Kris Kulakovska: Everything is difficult here. But we are fighting for quality and despite the expensive cost we are sympathetic to our audience. Therefore it is hard to make money out of our fashion. It is just creativity and a way of life. I can’t call it business yet.
