When Bella Hadid stepped out on the Cannes red carpet wearing a dress that seemed to only be held together by magic tape and fairy dust, everyone (or at least everyone in the Vogue office) was talking about it.
In a new interview with Glamour UK, the 19-year-old has spoken about her choice of dress and why she may not wear something so risky any time soon.
“I might wear a variation of it, but that's definitely the riskiest thing I'll wear in a while," she told Glamour UK. "I'll tone the next few down; you gotta keep them guessing and on their toes you know?"
Some investigation into the red Alexandre Vauthier gown uncovered that a cleverly inserted high-waisted leotard was just beneath the surface, holding things together and in place for Hadid.
"I didn't have a problem with it at all, it held itself together," she said. "If there was a little wind that would have been a problem but there wasn't. It all worked out!"
Hadid is having a big week (and it’s only Friday), having been named the newest face of Dior beauty and also starring in Givenchy’s latest campaign. The model’s future looks bright but her success doesn't only come down to luck.
“I surround myself with people I love and when I love them, I support them and go for it. And they then really push for me. Also, I work really hard. I try to do the best I can with everything that I put my mind to.”
As for working in the same industry as Gigi?
“It's nice to be in the same industry and to be able to support each other,” she says of working with her older sister. “It's especially nice when we get to work with each other or at least work in the same country. Sometimes we don't even realise we're in the same city until we message and then we're able to hang out after work and have a sleepover.
