I got to know that every bird has got its own temperament when I was working on a research paper about Quaker parrots. Perhaps, Stevie was comfortable keeping silent, as his twittering would be meaningless for us all the same. He was pretty with his green feathers and blue remiges. Stevie lived in his cage, and had elementary essentials. I fed him three times a day. On weekends he was allowed to fly across the room. He was healthy, but something was wrong, he often looked bored and discouraged.
Recently I was to leave my pet alone for several days. I was writing a college term paper and had to visit library in another city. I missed Stevie much and worried about it. I left a plenty of food and water, but the poor creature was deprived of company. I tried to return home as quickly as possible. Still, the trip took me several days. When I entered the room it was the first time that I heard cheerful twittering of my bird. Stevie was really glad to see me. It was really pleasant that strong emotions made my Quaker parrot break the silence.
