Also, if you are getting into fashion PR, I assume you enjoy writting about fashion. You are welcome to use the blog feature on your profile page. Your message would appear on your profile area and also for a short time on the main page of this site. You can almost use it as a resume for others to view your writting abilities...

For my money, there's nothing in the world like the NY fashion industry. The PR industry is extremely competitive, and depending on your experience, an internship or two might be necessary.
If you don't have any connections, it can be tough get your foot in the door, but there's a fantastic fashion-only staffing agency that you should contact shortly before your move to the city. www.24seven.com. They work with the biggest names in fashion and sometimes temping can lead to full-time employment.
Working with a smaller label or agency as an administrative assistant is also one way to get in. I know several companies that only promote from within, so don't rule out the jobs that don't thrill you right off the bat!
