"Hey there man, I have a question, I just draw my designs by hand and color them in, is this sufficient for manufacturers and whoever is producing the garment? or is there a certain format or whatever that they need the design in?? Thanks in advance"

  • Hey thanks for the add, I just want to get into modeling. I love fashion so much. despite my age I have done a lot of design work mainly for the Winter Olympics. I also design prom dresses and have made some as well, thats pretty much my back ground. I am in school studying Advertising. I hope that will help me find a job in the great world of fashion, I am looking for work ;) thanks again and i look forward to seeing your work and hopefully model for you lol :)
  • Hi ebun;

    Sorry for late reply, I was travelling overseas selling my collection. Anyways, to answer your question about garment dye:

    You may try some batique at home but for pigment garment dyes and for antiques (where you willget the most natural effects) you really need a professional garment dye company with pressurized machines. You can just pay them sampling cost (should be around usd 10/kg)

    You may find companies in your area via internet (i guess)
  • to answer your question you left for me on my profile page, it may depend on the quality of your sketch and the manufacturer that you are using. To produce an actual garment, the factory needs more then a simple sketch. For example, they need to determine garment measurments. This is often provided as a size specs file. A pattern maker may be able to create one for you.

    Some factories may be able to create the garment based on a sketch, but you are leaving much to chance unless you know that they are a very good factory.

    In my opinion, you do need more then just a sketch of your garment. You want to provide measurements, trim specifications etc. Possibly you can list your question in the Manufacturing Group on this site to get more advise.
