Dear Designers,

I think its great that you wish to build a collection.
As well as your designers please think about how you will build your brand in following so you make a PROFIT within 3 years. Many people don't think about the financials which sounds boring but its really important.

Who are your customers?
What makes your line unique? Is there anyone in the market doing this line?
If you receive a large order are you able to take a production order and deliver on time?
do you know the difference between a VC and Angel investor?
how do YOU present yourself and line in meetings?

I work with designers this part of the business. trust me you have wonderful talent but in 3 years having a roof over your head is just as important.

hi,
I have been working in fashion retail for 3 years and am currently a concessions manager and senior supervisor but what i really want it to use all my sketch books, pull some designs together and create my own collection. i would love any tips or advice on how to start my making my own collection?!
