    That is a good idea to learn more before jumping in head first. Good luck with your fashion line. You may want to add a bit more about your business objective in your profile. Possibly other people will contact you and offer suggestions. Also, you are welcome to join groups or add questions on the forum section. This site is still rather new so it may take time for active discussions to develop, but it can't hurt to post your questions. You may get some answers...
