London Trade Show: Margin

That's So New York - Earlier this week I was flooded with excitement as I finally received an invitation to my first ever London-based event! Yes, earlier this week whilst I was sat dabbling through my emails, I came across an invite to the Margin event. For those of you who are not aware, Margin is the longest running Independent Trade Show targeting designers, buyers and various forms of press, throwing all three in a room together (a fairly large room by the looks of it) in which you can find various displays, exhibiting a number of designer works (kind of like a classy market, yet instead of buying, you simply look, chat and ponder). Despite the fact that I mentioned designers, Margin moves away from your classic high-end and luxury designers and brings attention to the up-and-coming, meaning designers can exhibit their work whilst chatting with potential retailers and various magazines/press agents; that of which have previously included the likes of VogueElle, i-DEsquireWWDCosmopolitan and Drapers (plus a handful of additional and slightly smaller press-related companies/magazines).

Despite the fact that I was notified in regards to the event via email by Emma Louise (a designer who will be showcasing her work at the event), Margin is not an invite-only event. As far as I know, you can simply attempt entry by turning up to the event and heading on over to the entrance, yet as the event is for industry professionals only, it is likely that you will be required to flash a business card or two about before you are granted access by the Margin team, yet if you fall into either the press, blogger, retailer/buyer or designer categories, I can almost say for certain that it is likely that you will ...
