Don't Shoot Your Eye Out: How to Be Fashioable While Carrying Concealed

Many more women in the United States are applying for and receiving their concealed carry permits. Men have an easy answers to carry their handguns but, women do not. Unless they want to wear a bulky holster under their clothing, and many women do not. As our country evolves and many more women begin to carry hand guns for their personal safety reasons, many women are looking for stylish and effective ways to carry.

The Search Begins

Your application has been approved for your concealed carrying of an appropriately registered firearm. What do you do next? Many people ask themselves how they want to carry their hand gun. If you're in an emergency situation, you want to ensure that your weapon is easily accessible but, you also don't want it to be too bulky on your person. The idea of a concealment tank top doesn't appeal to you nor does holstering a gun in your bra, on your thigh or ankle. You also don't want to add to the waistband of your pants so, you don't want to purchase a conceal carry fanny pack, or any other type of waistband option that is marketed. What about a pair of compression shorts or leggings? Not your style or still too bulky in your mind? As a woman, chances are you're already carrying too many things. Your purse, files, bags, etc. obviously many women don't want to add on to the bulk that they carry.

Carrying Your Handgun in Your Purse
Since you may already be carrying a purse with you, it may have crossed your mind to find a way to carry your hand gun in your purse. Obviously, you will want to still be able to holster it without it accidentally discharging if your purse is jumbled but, if you open your purse in a store or other public setting, you may not want to draw unnecessary attention to the fact that you're carrying a hand gun on your person. What options to do you have? Is a purse the best option for me? There are a small handful of companies who make concealed carry handbags. However, many of these purses all look the same and are not very stylish. While all conceal carry hand bags are exceptionally convenient for their purpose, companies like Sweet Daisy Defense allows women to still be in control of their personal style without having to settle.

Carrying In Style
While there are a select amount of companies who do provide purses for women who want to carry their weapon in their purse, the bland designs leave the woman who is looking to fashionably conceal their weapon wanting more. Not everyone wants to carry a one color leather or faux leather purse or tote with them. Maybe you like having bright colors or patterns that pop. A casual hobo bag with all the features of the leathery type hand bags is your option. You're still getting the benefits of the padded conceal carry pocket which prevents the gun from imprinting and the easy access that the other styles allow. In addition, the thick padding prevents the gun from being affected by daily use. Many of the handbags that are manufactured for a conceal carried handgun offer the same type of benefits in regards to the safety and imprinting of the gun.

Now that you have been approved for a conceal carry permit, you should research any and all options that interest you for holstering your weapon. Functionality, accessibility, and comfort should be taken into consideration while you're shopping for your new stylish hand gun accessory. Don't be afraid to try out a plethora of options that are available to you and pick the carry style or styles that work best for you.
