Recieved a news letter today from Steve Madden (shoe company). After clicking on the image on the newsletter it brought me to the shoe above. The description of the shoe; basket weave wedge comes in this seasons hottest hues and is perfect for any warm weather outfit. I guess the question I have is should clothing retailers and shoe stores do a better job targeting their audience. For example, I happen to live on the East Coast of the United States. I have received the news letter on January 31st. I am not sure what calendar you use, but my calendar indicates that this is "Winter". And in the winter on the east coast, it may not be such a good idea to promote "warm" weather accessories.
Possibly when creating newsletter lists, companies should ask customers for their general location. They can then target to their audience a little differently. This shoe would be great in Los Angeles, but possibly not so great in New York in January.
