I know it’s a very rare occasion that I even mention Calvin Klein on my blog and I’ll get intothat later…. I will either mention his name when I find a great piece‘made in Italy’ or like this sweater that has a contemporary twist. This white sweater with graduating shades of gray, for me being anartist, is gorgeous no doubt. I’m just going to get my opinion upfront and over with here. When I was a teenager in south Texas in theearly 80′s Calvin Klein had just came out with the HOTTEST pair of jeansknown to mankind at that time. I mean to own a pair of Calvin’s at themoment was a huge status symbol because they were very expensive at thetime. I remember I had to have a pair or 2 and they retailed for ….get this…. $45 which back in the early 80′s was a butt load of seriouscash for anyone. Me being in high school at the time just had to havethem. At the beginning you couldn’t get your hands on them they werelike the Apple iPhone or iPad of today. So hot… don’t you rememberthose Brooke Shieldscommercials? Slowly but Shirley Calvin Klein added his name toeverything under the sun, I mean it was on toilet paper to trash bagsand to me at that moment I watched one of America’s favorite designerssell his name down the river. Don’t get me wrong I’m all aboutmarketing and making a buck but at what point does a designer say enoughwith the licensing? Another great example was Pierre Cardin, now hereally did license his name to toilet paper… Now that that’s off mychest I can actually get back to my posting here. I found this classicwhite cotton button down Laundry by Shelli Segal blouse and the khaki skirt is Theory. The Laundry white blouse with the khaki Theory skirt just together looksmart and classic but for that added splash of creativity I’m goingwith this Calvin Klein light weigh sweater to add an extra punch ofbrilliance. So the only thing that got between me and my Calvin’s wasthe flood of his name. If there is anything on my blog that you areinterested in please email me for price, additional photos andmeasurements.
