Uggs Make for the Perfect Fashion Accessory

Uggs Make for the Perfect Fashion Accessory

Each Fall, I find myself digging into my closet to replace my open toe shoes for a pair of warm and fuzzy Uggs. While this switch is primarily due to the change in climate, I have to admit that I look forward to this time of year because my Uggs are honestly the most comfortable pair of shoes I own.

Uggs make the perfect accessory for any outfit. Skinny jeans, leggings or stockings, you name it. And while UGG® boots have made a fashion statement among middle class America, the shoe was originally from the Down Under.

Timeline of Uggs

While UGG® boots are now popular within the United States, the lavish shoe actually originated in Australia and New Zealand. Both of which have claimed to invent the shoe. However, it was the surfer crowd that made the shoe popular outside of the southern hemisphere—gnarly!

Ugg boots first debuted in the United States during the 1970s, sported by California surfers returning from competition in Australia. It wasn’t until the mid-2000s that Uggs became a full out American fad. Today, Ugg boots have become a staple in American society by fashionistas and celebrities alike. Megan Fox, Hayden Panettiere, Blake Lively and Ashley Greene all wear Uggs, just to name a few.

Uggs for Everyone

With so many different Uggs to choose from, finding the right pair can be tricky. Plus, with a steep price tag of $100 and up, buying the right pair of Uggs is important. Ideally, you want to purchase a pair of Uggs that reflect your style. This way you’ll be able to get many wears out of your UGG® boots. So what kind of Uggs speak to you…

For the more sophisticated type, you have the classic fit, which matches nicely with nearly any outfit. The classic fit is something every true Ugg lover must have. Then there’s the plush slipper, which is great those who work from home. Nothing says comfort like slipping on a pair of Ugg slippers and strutting around your apartment. These can also be worn outdoors too.

For the more theatrical type, UGG® has recently released sequin and sparkle covered boots. Or, if you have more of a wild side, you might appreciate the new animal-printed faux fur, which comes in cheetah and zebra print. Both boots are can brighten any room—and any mood. Then there’s one of my personal favorites…the sweater boot made of wool. I have them in grey. You can wear them up, unbuttoned and cuffed, or slouched down.

So, for those who share in this occasion with me each year, you can relate to the warm embrace you receive when slipping on a nice pair of sheepskin boots. That being said, Uggs are particularly great for those chilly wintery days—and they make for great Christmas presents too!
