That's So New York - Retro- Futuristic was the theme for Thierry Mugler. Plastic mixed with fur, patent leather suits, and sheer panels cutting in swaths for a dress or gown with extreme platforms tumbled onto the runway in a showcase of 60's furutristic, 70's punk, 80's body con, and 90's goth. The makeup on the models was as extreme as the clothing, and highlighted the sexual aggressiveness of the clothing. The models hair resembled antennae on each side of their head, prompting me to wonder if this was a subliminal message of our internet age. Lady Gaga made her catwalk debut yesterday at the deigner's show. Will Mugler collaborate with Gaga for her clothing as Gaultier did with Madonna in the 90's?
