The use of reflective tapes helps prevent road accidents. The visibility and thus the safety of pedestrians on the road will help to increase 5000 reflective tapes.
On Thursday (March 28), members of the traffic police were donated to the Association of Road Carriers of the Slovak Republic by ČESMAD Slovakia.
The cops will distribute the tapes during traffic safety events.
"The use of reflective tapes helps prevent traffic accidents, which can often have fatal consequences," Pavol Jančovič, president of ČESMAD Slovakia, said.
His words were also confirmed by the Director of the Traffic Police Department of the Presidium of the Police Force, Ľuboš Rumanovský, who also pointed out in this connection the negative statistics on the deaths of pedestrians in traffic accidents.
"We are recording 17 deaths of the course - traffic accident participants, which is five more tragic cases compared to the same period last year," said Romanowski.
He advised that the planned traffic safety actions aimed at the most vulnerable road users will also address the most common causes of traffic accidents.
"These include the use of a phone while driving or speeding. Of course, we will also focus on controlling alcohol consumption," Rumanovsky assured.
