The fence is currently 500 meters long, covering only about half of what the Babu considers necessary. "Unfortunately there will be many dead amphibians," regrets Ebert, who points out that he is not prepared to endanger the integrity of the environmentalists. He is sad that motorists do not abide by the restrictions in part: "This unreasonableness is perilous."

In the area of toad migration, the city of Weatherize, as a traffic authority, has set a speed limit of 70 km / h. The Babu helpers may also set up signs for the duration of their operations at the track with 50 km / h and supplementary passing ban. "The signs were there when the accident happened. But it just does not help if many simply run riot, "regrets Ebert.

The spokeswoman for the police in Bronchial expressly emphasizes that there are no reliable findings of the speeds driven at the time of the accident. She largely confirms the rest of Beret's description and urges caution. On the road, it is always dangerous, on no account should you irritate motorists. Fence extension later

The district office informed on request that the toad fence will be extended by 500 meters in the coming season. That is already agreed with Babu, environmental protection and road construction office. The press spokesman of the district administrator regrets: "Unfortunately, an immediate extension is not possible because the necessary reflective material must first be procured. This is not feasible, in the required amount, within the current phase of the amphibious migration. «
