Summer Lovin' Had Me A Blast

That's So New YorkThis week I am aware that I have been a little up and down as far as regular posting goes; I'm now ready to put school behind me and begin working on the blog full-time as I begin a wonderful two month Summer break, ah- the bliss of being a high-school 'leaver.' Something which I have been wanting to post about for a while now is the playsuit; the playsuit is a personal favorite of mine (despite the fact I'm a guy and they're just a little limited) and it is a garment which I have seen flourishing this Spring/Summer after a borderline no show last year. The one shop which I think of as my sort of playsuit haven is Topshop; simply because every time I manage to get down to my local Topshop store with a couple of pals, we head straight over to either the playsuits, jumpsuits, high-waisted shorts or laced garments (ah, lace dresses have also topped my list recently- yet that's another post and a half.)

I thought that instead of rambling on about the history of the playsuit and how it has evolved over the years, I would simply throw multiple images of some of my favorite playsuits which are currently slapped all over Topshop. Just for reference, perhaps I will quickly write a little something in relation to the history of the playsuit! (apologies if anyone is thinking "BORING!") Okay, so after a little time with my best friend (Google) I seem to have came to the conclusion that Playsuits were just a tad huge in the 1950s and were frequently used as an alternative to the two-piece swimsuit which was considered 'daring' of its time (you know what that means? it's considered VINTAGE! hm, when will this obsession with vintage leave me?) yet you may have guessed that nowadays the girls simply use it as a loose piece of clothing which they can happily strut around in during the Summer months whilst keeping a tan on the go (on the arms and legs at least) and staying a little cooler than if they had thrown on a pair of denim jeans accompanied by a blouse or vest-top. Don't worry, that's all I had to say in regards to history-type ramblings; now onto the good stuff (meaning the Topshop pieces which I thought were pretty dandy ...)
