Winter isn’t winter without a pair of chunky woolly socks, although this year rather than teaming them with hefty worker boots, try pairing the socks with ladylike heels and ballet flats. The biggest fashion force to first attempt this peculiar styling was Prada for their A/W 2010 collection. Feet engulfed in thick woolly tights were stuffed into sleek pointy-toe kitten heels and high-heeled loafers. Bertie also featured this styling in their A/W campaign by mixing sixties beatnik with a preppy school girl style, and Marks & Spencers mixed leg warmers with ballet pumps and heels for a sexy and snug look.
