It certainly isn’t every day you find a brand new Carmen Marc Valvo silk blouse inside a thrift store now is it? This champagne colorsilk blouse created by Carmen Marc Valvo at one time was waiting inside ahigh end luxury brand department store until it ended up inside athrift store. Places like Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, BergdorfGoodman and many others sell his designs for hundreds of dollars and thething I could never understand about certain labels is why are theirclothes made in China? There are several brands, not naming nameshere, that charge their customers major bucks and they are made inplaces like China, Turkey, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. I can’t figure outwhy Carmen Marc Valvo doesn’t manufacture his designs in New York thegreat USA. Shirley wouldn’t you want to know, if you had your ownlabel, what the working conditions are for their workers who make theirgoods? I would and I wouldn’t produce items that I would chargehundreds of dollars for and then go to some third world country and getmy creations manufactured for pennies on the dollar. That’s the onlysmall bone I have to pick with American designers that don’t reallysupport their homeland. I know and this is coming from a big oldprogressive liberal! Getting that off my chest I can now move to theblack classic jacket by Tahari, which was made in the USA. Theconstruction of this Tahari jacket is your typical classic cut that is timeless and ever so chic. Pair this ensemble with a gorgeous pair of legging by Juicy Coutureand this bad woman could be in for a wild bumpy ride.
