Put Your Best Leg Forward

8842913875?profile=originalThat's So New York - We are all familiar with leggings, tights, pantyhose, and even jeggings to cover our legs for cool spring afternoons or cold winter mornings. But leg warmers have made a comeback in the recent year or so and I for one think that now is the perfect time to pick up a pair and wear them with your favorite mini skirt. You can even wear leg warmers with short shorts, two tank tops layered, and spring boots for a “I can’t decide how to dress for the weather yet” look. Leg warmers, which were originally worn more for warmth than for fashion and personal style, have truly come a long way since their debut. Leg warmers were oftentimes worn by dancers, but just about anyone and everyone can rock this style.

Currently, leg warmers are made from knitted wool, cotton, nylon, polyester, rayon, leather, acrylic, and even fur! Wear them any way you’d like—thigh-high and pulled over the knee, slouched down to the ankle, or mid-calf if it works. Wear them with flats or sneakers for a casual look, pulled slightly over your pumps or heels for a dressier look, or have them peep over the top of your boots for a trendier look. Some leg warmers are even adorned with fasteners and sew-ons like buttons, pom poms, zippers, laces, snaps and buckles. This trendy leg accessory will have you starting your own personal collection due to the versatility and endless designs and colors from which you can choose. Throw them over your arms for good measure if you’d like or even mix and match. Whatever goes! So have fun while you shop for a pair at your favorite retailers like TargetHot Topic and American Apparel. - Contributor Aja Russo
