In the Plaza of the Civic Center, the governor participated in the closing of the school brigades of Road Safety that culminated with the taking of oath and a parade.

 

The more than 2000 boys of the school brigades of Road Safety had their closing of the year and take off the oath in the Dry Place of the Civic Center.

 

The brigades of Road Safety in schools are born with pedagogical proposals and actions in the territory as a committed strategy to reduce road accidents in routes and streets of the province, but also to train young people in a responsible road culture, attentive to the care of the life, a better coexistence in the circulation and a sustained care of public spaces. The most important thing: children and adolescents are the protagonists.

 

From the Under secretariat of Transit and Transport, Ariel Palma stressed that different State policies were implemented with the need to reach all points of our province in terms of road safety, from there they created between 2017-2018, 260 school brigades of Road Safety. "We are continuing to work to continue raising awareness among all of them to move with prudence the routes and streets of our province," he said.

 

The official added that the creation of the brigades is a fundamental element to reach all San Juan people and help reduce accident rates.

 

Emilio, Minister of Government, congratulated all those who participated in the program, "the children and teachers for the commitment they carry out. For road safety are many things to consider, infrastructure, streets, controls, education is very important, the task is to raise awareness among the elderly and try to make San Juan safer for all.

 

To end the speeches, Governor Sergio stressed that "for the Government the boys are the best interlocutors of society to raise awareness about road safety, we are committed to reducing the number of accidents through the Ministry of Government, even knowing that the results we are not the ones who claim that the work you carry out is more than important in lowering the rate of road accidents, I thank all the children and their teachers for participating in this program that helps us fight a problem we have not only in San Juan but throughout Argentina. "

About the school brigades

 

A brigade is a small number of students who voluntarily meet to carry out a series of actions directed with a defined purpose, whose work is based on preventive management and development and whose objectives contribute to reinforcing the contents proposed by the educational community.

 

This organization must grant concrete possibilities to children and young students who participate in them, to develop and strengthen the sense of group, the sense of organization and the feeling of help with projections towards the community.

 

The Road Safety team of the Undersecretary of Transit and Transportation toured most of the departments where school safety brigades were formed, through previous training to students and teachers, then the presentation of the brigade to students and parents was made of the school for the recognition of the functions of the same, as well as the undersecretary delivered a kit to each brigades consisting of a reflective vest, an identification hat and a manual where he describes the functions and various situations that the brigades must meet.

 

During the summer of 2018-2019, summer brigades will be set up in the holiday camps, with prior training for all the coordinators in order to help with road safety.
