Lab grown diamonds vs real diamonds

Difference-between-Synthetic-and-Natural-Diamonds

Diamonds have been cherished by people for thousands of years as a rare and precious metal.  Although diamonds are usually extracted from mines, it has also been made in laboratories in recent years.  As a result, the diamond mining companies have been in crisis for many years.

Let's know what is the lab-made diamond?

The chemical composition of the diamond made in the lab is no different from the real diamond. The only difference is that the natural diamonds are made by the heat inside the soil and the artificial diamonds are made by the heat inside the special machine. Now we are talking about Lab-grown diamonds vs real diamonds. The manufacturers can produce good quality diamonds relatively cheaply and quickly.  As a result, companies that extract diamonds from mines are now competing fiercely with diamond producers in the lab.  Lab-made diamonds have now become a growing industry. Considering the relatively low price, transparency, and environmental aspects, buyers are leaning towards artificial diamonds. Every year the artificial diamond market is surpassing the previous years.

Environmental effect of artificial diamonds and real diamonds:

The amount of greenhouse gases emitted when making artificial diamonds is three times more than the amount emitted from mines.  About two and a half tons of soil has to be dug for every carat of the diamond from the mine.  As a result of continuous extraction, some of the mines have become so large that it can be seen from space.  At least 56 kg of carbon is released into the atmosphere when a carat diamond is extracted from a mine.  And when the lab produces the same amount of diamonds, only a few grams of carbon are released into the air. In areas where there are diamond mines, local people are exposed to severe water pollution. According to researchers, the production of synthetic or natural diamonds has to pay a high price to the environment.

Defective source:

It is very common for workers to die in accidents in diamond mines.  On the other hand, if lab-made diamonds become popular, the process will take away the jobs of miners in developing countries.  However, considering the environmental aspect, the diamonds created in the lab are moving ahead of the mining diamonds. The market for lab-made diamonds is growing brightly considering the environmental benefits.
