Ira Khan who looked resplendent in a quintessential red and gold lehenga, celebrated tradition with a modern twist at her wedding reception on January 13 at Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai.
Ira who got married to Nupur Shikhare graced her wedding reception in a custom lehenga designed by Sereia Design Studio by Monali Roy. The three-piece ensemble featured a heavily embellished traditional lehenga, a contemporary blouse and a georgette dupatta. Speaking about designing the exquisite bridal look for Ira, Monali says, “It was amazing to work with Ira. She is very patient, and understanding and was involved in the process. She knew what she wanted and allowed me to develop on her idea.
Describing Ira’s wedding reception look, Monali further adds, “Ira wanted the traditional lehenga silhouette with a more modern blouse cut. Overall we took seven months to plan and execute the piece. More than 300 hours of labour went into producing the lehenga.”
