Ok, she might be beautiful in a quirky sort of way.

She might have a fairly decent singing career in Europe.

She could have homes in France, England and LA.

And is rolling in it.

She’s currently the face of Chanel.

And just happens to have one of the world’s most gorgeous men in the world head over heels in love with her.

What I can’t quite understand is just how Vanessa Paradis managed to go from one god-awful song in the 80s, in the ripped-jeans fashion style of Kylie, to having it all. I mean, you don’t see Tiffany plastered all over the news with Brad Pitt on her arm, now do you?

Bitter? Too right I am.

I’m around the same age as Vanessa and I wore ripped jeans too. Like her, I’m not the world’s greatest singer but I think I can hold a note (outbreak of giggles in the office). I can’t help but think that should my parents have been richer (yes, I blame them), should I have moved to Paris and had a slightly wider gap in my teeth, I would have been in there. I’m trés, trés bitter.

But, sadly, even I have to admit that Vanessa has improved with age. Yes, she’s mad as a box of frogs’ legs (just Johnny’s type I imagine), but she has the most amazing bone structure and seems to be able to leap effortlessly from boho to haute couture in the bat of a false eyelash. Unlike me.

So then, avoiding the temptation to find out if, like me, she has any tomato soup-stained dressing gowns or fluffy rabbit slippers, let’s reluctantly take a look inside her wonderful wardrobe and take a peek at her jewellery.
