One of the few best things about summer is having a beach party. There is nothing better than a dip in the sea or a lie down with friends, sipping ice-cold beer. But summers have been known to be the ultimate party poopers because if you’re not dressed right, it is all a waste. Follow the following dos and don’ts if you do not want to sweat out your mind on the fashionable issues this summer.

  1. Fabrics – Although light and breezy fabrics are recommended, there is a problem. The lighter the fabric, the easier it is for the harmful UV rays to get absorbed into your skin and wreak havoc. Dark fabrics, on the other hand, tend to get your body temperature high and don’t look summery. Fortunately for you, technology has made life easier and there are a lot of fabrics and beachwear/sportswear available in the market that takes care of both your fashion woes and your skin’s protection. Your skin is more important than anything else, so invest a little in these great inventions and enjoy a hassle free summer.
  2. Hats and Scarves – Since your main goal is to protect your skin from the sun, you must invest in a good hat. Straw hats are pretty popular but they usually get blown away and you don’t want to be seen holding your hat in every picture at your beach party. So, get some visor scarves in colors and patterns. They look chic and also give you the protection of a hat. You can let the ends free for a boho look or you can tuck it in for a cleaner look.
  3. Sunglasses - Invest in a quality pair of shades or sunglasses. The 70’s and 80’s style shades have made a comeback. These have huge frames and cover a lot of your face. Get some spunk on and buy your shades in bright colors because summer is, after all, a season of colors.
  4. Footwear – Flip flops are the evergreen beach and summer wear. You can also try gladiators and pretty sandals.
  5. Accessories – You can try loopy earring but make sure that the colors are bright. A cute starfish brooch would look good on your cotton jacket. Try and carry huge bags because you need to carry a lot of stuff around, especially if it’s summer.
  6. Sunscreen – Last but not the least, sunscreen is a must. Research before you buy one and be willing to spend a little extra for the sake of better SPF. The SPF depends on the area you live in but usually, an SPF 30 or more is considered adequate. Apply it 30 minutes before you go out and reapply if it gets washed off. Apply it all over your body.

Remember to carry a bottle of water and some face wipes. You want to look fresh without a lot of make up.
