Fashion Collections: Art or Disgust?

designerstowatch_garethpugh_560x375.jpgInstead of writing my paper writing on the traditions of Native Americans, I started switching TV channels, looking for Discovery movies about Indians. Accidentally I came across a fashion collection show, and got stuck for about 15 minutes. Most people are fascinated and attracted by this podium walking; however, I can not imagine how all these shows may be interesting. Anorectic girls, who remind of the victims of German concentration camp, are dressed in absurd clothes, and walk along podium, surrounded by photo flashlights and sights of people, who pretend to experts in the sphere of fashion. The most boring scenery, I have ever seen, I need to confess. Surely, the fantasy of fashion designers is endless, and, frankly speaking, I do not think that mentally healthy people are able to invent something like this. In spite of the fact that fantasy is endless, some rules should bee observed.

On the other hand, some models were dressed in suits made of natural fur and feathers of rare species (seal cubs, phocas, great-bustard bird etc.). It is a pity to think that these animals were killed for nothing, as there is no practical use of those dresses and suits. Surely, some designers use only artificial materials for preserving nature; however, considering the sums, which are invested into fashion collections and shows, this money could be unvested more usefully: famine in Africa, droughts in Asia, AIDS, cancer researches etc. I’d rather do a custom essay about it.
