It was the sign of the psychedelic generation that imbibed free spirited music and expressed uninhibited love. It was the “in thing” and a stark contrast to the button down, starchy collared shirts of the seniors.PantsThe bellbottoms of the 1970’s overwhelmed and transformed the way one wore pants. It was a bohemian fashion statement and a symbol of the wildly stylish. These bellbottoms were made with polyester material. Did you know that these pants traced their origins back to naval uniforms?Leisure SuitsLeisure suits can be traced back to the 1700s. The suit made a comeback in the 1970s in a polyester version when the Lizards wore them across the United States. The ensemble included a shirt jacket and matching trousers. This suit was conceived as an informal alternative to Sports coats and suits.
