I don’t think I’ve seen a more lovely linen jacket than this Bernard Zins in quiteawhile. I can’t seem to take my eyes off the flower background design, from an artist eye like my own, this is a artistic smash! Just toquote little Edie Beale from “Grey Gardens”. Bernard Zins died in 2004and was known as the father of the stretch waistband trouser, Zinsfounded his eponymous company in 1967 and was credited with applyingold world tailoring techniques to modern manufacturing. Suchcouturiers as YSL, Pierre Cardin, Givenchy, Balmain and Yamamoto hadtheir trouser collections manufactured by Zins, who was regarded as theRolls Royce of pants makers. Every time I see a Bernard Zins item inthe thrift store I gobble it up as fast as I can blink. This labelis known for it’s attention to quality and detail and from theconstruction of this linen jacket you can easily see why. I found whatappear to be brand new, Akris light brown wool slacks in pristinecondition. Akrisis a name on everyone’s lips these days because these are clothes thatseem especially right for the times. Beautifully made and trendresistant, they’re the very definition of investment dressing. AlbertKriemler wants his collection to be a feel good one literally, to thatend he focuses on fabric development. Akris has written over 80 yearsof history as a Swiss family company, Albert Kriemler’s grandmother, ladthe foundations for the current operation in 1922 making only aprons. Iwould give about anything for an original apron, can you imaginefinding one of those in a thrift store? Stranger things have happenedbefore so I’m always searching for aprons now when I hit the thriftstores, you do the same. If there is any recycled luxury item on myblog you are interested in please don’t hesitate to email me aboutprice, additional photos or measurements. Don’t forget to check out TheThrifters Boutique and please follow me on Twitter & Facebook, also please enjoy my YouTube videos on thrifting, they are highly charged with information. Toodles for now. Daniel
