Alienated Chicness

Lets all grab our space blankets and sit around the electronic fire...Pierre Hardy ate my heart. Nicholas Ghesquiere is the monster in my bed.

About two weeks ago, I tweeted, "Sometimes I wish I could just dye my hair white and have frozen white eyebrows. I would be the tan Froze! Polar bear skin on my back! Ug! I shall!"...Balenciaga's FW 2010 basically spoke for me on this one. Though I had not yet seen the latest season.

I will start with Pierre Hardy. Not only did he give us all a glimpse of what the future woman will be walking the streets in but he changed the way I now look at loafers. Lets just say I wouldn't be wearing these around the house on a lazy Sunday.

Groundbreaking!!!!!!!

I must say my favorite part, is the mixture of pastel colors and texture Pierre's shoes have. Call me old fashioned but pastels make me wet my pants but now that I've seen them on shoes...I'll have an everlasting fashion-erection! (I should copy right that)

Then theres Nicolas, who is a hotty all on his own. If Nicolas's designs are anything, they are Chic. I have always thought of Nicolas Ghesquiere as a revolutionist in fashion but this season he went out of the box and into a different world.

Wishing I had white hair w/matching eyebrows, I admire Nicola's mind. I have always fallen in love with colors on clothes and Balenciaga, amongs others, have never failed me. Even in the brink of our economic times. This line is a vision for the future and when I see it, it inspires me to look forward and wait for what's to come.

But I'm curious, Balenciaga, bieng the label it is, still has many skeptics. Why is that? Is it that over time it has now become more mainstream? If that is it, then do we all look at Chanel, YSL, Dior, etc...the same way? I hope not. I wouldn't categoriez it as mainstream, because what isn't mainstream these days. J'adore Chanel, YSL, Dior, and Balenciaga. They have all had iconic moments in time and I predict this is Balenciagas era. Let her REIGN!
