Branding can make or break any product and the most successful brands are so well recognised that a simple logo is recognised by us all.

In the United States, the wild horses that arrived from Spain centuries ago, are known as mustangs. They have reputation for being a tough breed that is difficult to break-in.

They also have a reputation for being fast and so it’s little surprise to discover an iconic American car that has been around for fifty years, shares the same name.

The new top of the range one has an iconic Cobra engine and is one of the most exciting sports cars to drive.

But what can we say about a shoe manufacturer with the same name? It’s not obvious that a shoe or boot can be called fast, unless an Olympic runner is wearing them. Perhaps we’ll use the term fast, as in racy.

They make a great range of Mustang boots and Mustang boots womens, and a leather or suede boot can be evocative of the Wild West. So that’s about a close as we can get with the mustang shoe brand connection to horses and cars.

However, on closer inspection, this brand produces far more than just boots. Like many other global brands, they also manufacture a wide range of clothing and accessories. There is a common thread of a casual but tough cowboy nature throughout all their products.

The whole range could also be described as outdoor wear so perhaps here we have finally discovered some connection.

The car looks like it wants the open road through the mid-west where coincidentally, are many of the last remaining Mustang horses.

Perhaps someone wearing boots and clothes of the same brand could drive the car, lasso a horse, break it in, and ride away into the sunset.
