In the normal course of events, following initial treatments during the manufacturing process, and after the usual wear and tear and laundering by the user, jeans end up fading so much that they become almost white. However, research has revealed that indigo blue, the colour intrinsically associated with a pair of jeans and regularly used to dye the fabric threads, as a result of the very latest technical advances, can be washed and treated to gradually fade towards a shade of pink. The secret is in the interplay of colours, and in particular in the shades assumed by blue indigo as it fades. This is of course a highly ambitious and challenging process, because indigo blue is a primary colour and as such cannot be broken down; nevertheless Armani Jeans has discovered that it has the potential to appear in a new guise.
