Ever felt that there is something missing in your attire? Sure you have! With accessories becoming an important part of the attire these days, it’s no big wonder that items of comfort are coming in new styles and designs to suit a person’s personality. Winter brings with it hindrances in style and there isn’t much you can try. What you can do to overcome it is to liven up your woollens.

Scarves are considered to be a necessity because they protect you from the cruel winters by adding another layer of clothing. There are many ways in which you can tie a scarf but first, you must know the basics of donning a scarf.

  • Scarves always go well with short jackets.
  • There are many kinds of knots but Parisian knot is the most popular of these.
  • A scarf in bright colours and patterns always adds a new dimension to the attire and also, it can help you in accessorizing further.
  • Scarves are a must in winters and hence, you need to have a few styles up your sleeve to not look boring.

So, here are a few styles and knots you can try yourself. These are easy but extremely helpful.

  1. Parisian Knot – This is the easiest and the most popular of knots. Fold the scarf in half and drape it around your neck. Pull the loose ends (which will be together) inside the “eye” at the other end. Adjust it for the desired tightness and you are done! It gives you a suave look without going overboard. The best knot to be worn for daily use, you can also wear a jacket on top and tuck the scarf in on windy winter mornings.
  2. Once around knot – This is a simple hassle free style. You just give the scarf one loop around your neck and tie a normal knot. This is best suited for days when you are in a hurry and don’t have much time to go artistic. You can also try the same with two loops if you want to cover your neck entirely.
  3. Loose once round knot – This is just an extension of the previous style. You can give your scarf a single loop around your neck and let it hang a little loose without the custom knot. It gives a casual look and goes best with duffle coats and hoodies. Colour code the scarf with your attire and you are all set to mesmerize people with your casual look.
  4. Square scarf – Simply drape the scarf once around your neck and hide the ends under the triangle. This is best done with a square scarf and can be worn with a short jacket.

These are just a few styles you can try. You can even come up with your own when you have tried and mastered all these.
