Hi i would use a lot of tulle with beads for the for the Candy floss theme and sweets for the ice cream play with the shapes. Cheapfabrics.co.uk they have beaded tulle. i also design for children but nothing as fairy as you. Good luck

U should try some patch work on Kids wear, u will love it. In India we have Tribal Applique n Patchwork from state of Bihar its best suited on kids Fashion.

I am a new designer also. I just read your information. If you ever desire to have a Couture Fashion Production and want to collaborate contact me. I am planning one for this year but need designers for the event. I found a place to have it but need the designers.

If sewing is your passion and something you love to do then you can pull it off...it doesn't have to be a huge fashion show because you are just starting out. You make a good amount of clothes if even 10 pieces to display just to show off your talent. You find a decent place to hold the show and charge a simple $5 - $10 for the tickets. You can have refreshments and so forth...you can pull it off in due time. Good luck and I wish you all the best! ^_^
