    Usually what you can do (and what I did) is actually submit your resume to volunteer for fashion week (www.mbfashionweek.com/newyork). They usually have a deadline for sending it in, but you should absolutely send in your resume to volunteer. I believe the next one in NY is in February, but they also have them in Miami and other locations around the world.
    As far as interning, I would keep pressing forward and try to get in touch w/ small boutiques, local designers, and things like that and let them know what you would like to do and even if they don't have anything for you at the moment they may know someone else who might.
