I need to go login on the Myspace profile and get it up to date and make sure people get looking over here on the website for information on the project. Same holds true on Facebook and other sites. I'll be updating the link list of sites the project has a presence on along the way.
Please pick up bulletin posts and repost them so your friends hear about your involvement and support for the project. As we move into fashion shows this fall and winter, spreading the news to the public will be essential for the health of all in the project in making money through the project. Yes - I said YOU make money by being IN the project, as an active participant and promoter.
The Myspace presence is going to have fewer DIRECT updates. When visiting that profile the RSS Reader will show the most recent posts here.
You can follow this link to the event posting on the site.
The upcoming Soldier Rock Fash Bash is going to be the group of designers that will be asked to participate in the photoshoot. There is a call for talent on July 31 at which we will be settling in on what designers are part of the show and selection of runway talent as well.
Being a participant in the project does not guarantee a place in Soldier Rock Fash Bash, however your involvement in this project puts you in a closer position to being placed in the show than most other people. We will be needing street team/promoting members. This will be the case as we move the project forward partnering in creating fashion shows that are not directly focused on Abandoned In Detroit. There WILL BE Abandoned In Detroit specific shows held very soon.
Location for this shoot is in south Detroit at an abandoned outdoor factory. Get to know what a GROUP FASHION SHOOT is all about. We work with multiple models, designers, photographers to create group photos representing the fashions of our designers. Seeking coordinators and designers for this shoot at this time! Last night I was speaking with Reuben of the Better Detroit Youth Movement about the upcoming August shoot and show. The proposal is being made to move the shoot to August 23 and hold it around Artists Village with a show at the Redford Theater. The advantage with the move is bringing synergy of direction with Blightbusters, youth organizations, and achieving a greater awareness for the project. The concern is that with Dream Cruise planning we haven't created a large enough presence in advance to draw traffic. So it seems another FFL ('Fast Fashion Lifestyle') themed event is postponed, which in turn creates ripples into 313FAD.
A week has passed since the last shoot. I've been busy creating the DivaTv website, and with the Better Detroit Youth Movement. August 16 is looking as a collaborative project between many entities. What I need now are coordinators and promoters that know how to pull off a big event.
Looking at everything going on at present and wondering where are the photo phone calls. Seems I'm being left to create websites in the middle of summer instead of photos.
Location for this shoot is to be determined. If you haven't modeled fashion too much - get into the project and get to know posing with other models, working with multiple designers and photographers. Get to know what a GROUP FASHION SHOOT is all about.
The past weekend was a busy time around the project... at least so it was planned. However the plans failed over and over at succeeding. In the wake of this we have to examine the causes and effects, how to improve the process, and move forward efficiently.
The Abandoned In Detroit project and 313FAD are pulling talent together for a fashion show at Artist Village to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Blightbusters.org. We need designers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, photographers, and interested public.

Our participation in the celebration is creating a bridge with a long-standing charity. Watch for additional partnerships with organizations involved in the renaissance of Detroit, uplifting the environment and the people here. The forums are open and topics can be created for new discussions. We had the beginnings of a relationship with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, and the contact I had there has since left. I would like to form a new link into the organization, perhaps through a different angle.
I could use the assistance of anyone that enjoys researching where to find money through grants and charities. I have leads to chase but little time to chase them.

Do you hold runway events for the Abandoned In Detroit fashion showcase project you mention? If yes, and you wish to provide photos, I can possibly create a section for you at the fashion week photos website. On the pages that use your photos, they can link to your website.
