Every man’s wardrobe consists of at least one white shirt that goes with most of his pants. It is a key component of your closet. However, maintaining that colour is a task on its own. The most vulnerable clothing item in the trunk has many rules that come with it. Here are a few dos and don’ts of a white shirt.

1. Pair it up
   The best thing about a white shirt for men is that it goes with everything! Drinking beer with the mates? Pair the untucked white shirt with denims. A day at the beach? Fold up the sleeves and put on shorts. Dinner with clients? Nothing says formal than a neat white shirt and black trousers, maybe rope in a tie with it too.

   Light colours such as white are said to reflect the solar heat right off us and keep us cool. Thus, you know what to do when the temperature soars; bring out all those white shirts in your wardrobe and savour the bright, shiny sun rays.
   
   
3. Crisp and clean
   Honestly, any man looks great in a white shirt but only when it is clean and crisp. We know this shirt is prone to many attacks. You may not even realise when it may get blotched. For instance, even hugging a girl with excessive make-up can be fatal for your shirt. Hence, as much as possible, keep away from such danger, regularly wash or even dry clean it and always maintain its freshness.

1. Keep the occasion in mind

2. Public Transport and white shirts don’t go along
   Using the public transport will definitely harm your white shirt through no fault of your own, especially in a populated city like Mumbai. Hustling through the crowd, the metros, local trains and pollution also playing a huge role, your clean white shirt might turn off-white by the end of the day.
   
   
3. White to be washed with white
   Wash your white shirt with your wife’s hot pink dress and you will have a brand new baby pink shirt. Thus, unless you want to see traces of a rainbow flowing through that white shirt for men, do not dump it into the washing machine with other coloured items of clothing. Whites should only be washed with other whites!
