Summer can be that time of the year when you make the most memorable time of your life happen or, relive all those fun moments from summers past when you ran around in the sand or, braved to join a summer camp.  It is the season to be outdoors in as much as winter was the season that dictated for you to stay in.

Season After Season Of Changing Skin

This season is also associated with multiple summer skin problems that could mean worse times ahead for some skin types.  Many of which are rooted on the scorching summer heat and the dry, sweaty skin the climate seems to press upon your skin.  Among all of the skin concerns that you might encounter this season, two of the most prevalent will have to be sunburn and heat rash.

Since prevention goes a long way in maintaining your skin health, here are 7 ways you can amp up your sun protection strategy at this time of the year:

1.  Spend time in the shade.

It is obviously possible to spend too much time under the sun when you are having too much of a good time having fun. even when you have sunscreen and all of the implements we shall be mentioning here, there is no excuse for not giving yourself and your skin sufficient break time from sun exposure. How about calling in a sun break? That does not have to mean call a time out on fun too, right? Find other equally good things to do while you’re in the shade. It’s an easy option when you know you’re in good company.

2.  See the world in a more toned down light with a pair of sunglasses.

I never go out during the day without sunglasses, fashion designer, Tory Burch, once disclosed. A pair of shades provides vital sun protection for both your eyes and the skin around it. It makes you stop squinting, causing your skin to wrinkle as well but, more importantly, it adds another layer of physical shield between the suns harmful UV rays and your skin.  Need we mention that you have all the right styling reasons to wear those pair of glasses too?

3.  Wear clothes with high ultraviolet protection factor.

The alarming rise in melanoma and other skin cancers worldwide in the past few decades have driven the wider use of sunscreens but also of so-called high UPF rated clothing.  You will be happy to know that your favorite bikinis and swimsuits, often made from lycra and nylon, have high UPF ratings. Other fabrics that rate high are nylon, polyester, and elastane. Choose when you show off that skin and time it because you do become better UV protected with a rash guard and a pair of diving suits on.

4.  Get smart with your sunscreen.

Before you can make a smart selection, the first thing you must know is that there are sunscreens that might actually be doing you more harm than good by being laden with highly toxic chemicals. Over time, these not only damage your skin but also pose detrimental impacts to your overall health and well-being.

Look instead for mineral sunscreens which add a film on top of your skin that reflects back UV whenever it catches sunlight rather than catalyze a series of chemical reactions like chemical sunscreens do. Follow application instructions closely and take note of times when you should reapply to keep your skin from burning.  When UV somehow still fries your skin, an Esoterica Fade Cream can help lighten up the dark marks that develop later as a result.

5.  Bring your umbrella.

It remains to be one of the most effective ways that you can protect your skin from the sun, whether you are out on the beach or, simply taking a stroll in the park.

6.  Wear a broad-brimmed hat.  For times when you want to be able to keep both of your hands-free, you can always wear a posh hat. It adds flair to any summer attire you have on.

7.  Think about getting a darker car tint.

It can make a lot of difference most especially when you frequently drive around in midday.

Conclusion

It’s more fun to be out in the sun when you know that you are protected from harsh elements that may damage your skin and, worse, cause you to have ill health.
