The vintage clothes you can take from your mum’s closet

They say that history is repeated. This is true and especially when we are talking about fashion. Fashion trends come and go again and again. You can take advantage of this and look in your mom's closet for hidden treasures to help you get the most impressive and distinctive look. There are some items from your mom's wardrobe that's in fashion today and worth trying.

Long dresses with uncovered shoulders

It seems that long skirts and retro kjoler  are never out of fashion. This year, designers suggest long dresses with uncovered shoulders. It is absolutely sure that there will be a variety in such a dress in your mom's wardrobe since the 1970s.

Swede mini skirts

Suede skirts are back in fashion, as in the 1970s. The only difference is that they then combined with huge platforms and they are now worn with simple sandals or sneakers.

Full-body forms

The full-length forms in every shape, short, long, jeans or any other fabric have come back to fashion. A slightly different version of them was very popular until the 1990s, so you can definitely find one in your mom's wardrobe or even your big sister’s.

Missoni dresses

Missoni dresses and tunics were very popular in the 1960s. Every girl had to have at least one of this outfits in her wardrobe. If, however your mom is way more young, do not hesitate to look into your grandma’s closet too.

Jeans

Trendy Jeans are always in fashion. There is not a time in fashion that jeans were out of it. The only thing that changes is their design. Today, high-heels  jeans are very popular, back from the 1980s.

T-shirts with funny prints

You may think that it is very easy to buy a t-shirt, but if you find a vintage it will be something special that no one else will have.

Leather belt

This style comes and goes from one season to another. It is smart though to have it in your closet, so if you find a good leather belt, you can ‘’steal’’ it from your mom.

Leather Shorts and other leather clothes

Those types of clothes will remain in good shape for as long as time passes. If you are lucky you can find a pair of suede shorts from previous ages and make the most special appearances.

Jersey from lace

Our mums and grandmothers also wore lace jerseys. If your mom has kept such a sweatshirt, it's time for the blouse to come out of the trunk.

Pencil trousers

This kind of pants was  in fashion many years ago, just like today. They are also very comfortable.

Jean Dresses

Jean dresses are essential for the summer. We can combine them with everything and look perfect at all times of the day.  Do not forget to wear your platforms along, just like your mother used to do.

There are also some important things to take care of before you choose to take those clothes. The first thing you need to do is take only the clothes and accessories that are in good shape. You should avoid anything with holes or any dirt for obvious reasons. Do not throw away clothes that look big in size. The plus sizes clothes if they combined in the right way, they are the absolute trend.

Do not get afraid of the prints. Choose what you like and put it in your own style in smart and impressive ways. Do not underestimate the simplest clothes. Your own shoes and accessories will make them look more modern.

In addition to the clothes you can find, look for accessories as well. What you will see will impress you. Your mother might have kept all these amazing earrings women used to wear.
