Accept yourself

Okay so you decided you want to be a model, now the next step is to decide what kind of model you want to be. There are various kinds of models that practice different things. Do you want to be a runway model? Or an underwear model? Commercial model? There are actually 22 types of modeling, and every type requires some specific characteristics you need to have. It’s crucial for you to find out what type suites you and what’s in your comfort zone!

Be prepared for rejection!

This is probably one of the hardest things. No one likes to feel rejected and in this industry you will get that a lot! You have to prepare yourself for these kinds of things, cause no matter how hard you work on yourself, you will never be fit for every job! It’s important to keep your confidence and not to give up when things get hard! Take photos

Learn how to take the right photos! Most agencies require seeing a head shot and a full body shot. It’s important not to wear make-up while you’re taking these pictures, as the people in the agencies want to see your natural features. Also, be sure to choose some space with natural light. It’s not obligatory to have professional photographs; regular digital ones can be just fine.

Take care of yourself

Some people think it goes without saying, but it’s better not to forget. As your appearance is your job, you need to constantly take care of it. It’s essential to eat healthy, to have balanced meals and to have a normal vitamin intake. Also, it’s very important to have a regular work-out regime to keep your condition going. Beside the fact that you will maintain your figure, you will also feel better. Treat your body as a temple!

Agency

There are tons of modeling agencies out there and the trick is to find the right one. Be careful! There are also tons of agencies that are focused only to scam you, take advantage of you and your money – it’s crucial to think ahead and do some research! Try and look up some local agencies, ask around from your friends and acquaintances. So just keep in mind that it’s a reputable agency and you shouldn't have any problems!
