Exercise is an important part of life, but what do you do if you don’t have enough time to clean up afterwards? There are a few things you can do before and during your workout without messing up your look.

Take Off Your Makeup

Makeup tends to do this ugly thing when you sweat, like run and smear down your face. Not only does this look bad, but it is also bad for your skin. It can clog your pores and cause painful breakouts. To avoid this, you should consider foregoing the makeup altogether. Wash your face before your workout any makeup and residual grime. This will leave a clean surface to help prevent those painful breakouts. If you must wear some makeup, opt for a minimal look with a tinted lip balm to keep your lips moisturized and a waterproof mascara. You can always reapply your full amounts of makeup when you are done working out.

Lose the Ponytail

While a ponytail is one of the easiest ways to get your hair out of your face, it is also a classic ‘just came from the gym’ look. Consider an alternative gym friendly hairstyle like a fishtail braid or a topknot. These hairstyle will keep your hair off your neck and out of your face, while still looking put together, even after you are done working out. You can also wear wrap-around headbands to keep the fly-aways under control, and take them off when you are done.

Wear Deodorant and Hydrate

Take your deodorant along with you and always reapply it before and after your workout. Antiperspirant is one of the best, because it will keep you smelling fresh and reduce your underarm sweat stains. Make sure that you also drink plenty of water. This will keep you from getting dehydrated and prevent blotchy red spots from showing up on your face.

Wear Cute Clothes

It may seem silly to mention, but what you wear to gym can affect your workout. Find workout clothes that fit you well and choose the pair with the pretty design. They will make you feel beautiful and more confident, which will encourage you to tackle more challenges. Women should wear a good sports bra that protects you and provides excellent support, it’s always important to find good, high-quality workout clothes from a reputable shop like Over Under Clothing or someplace similar, even if they cost a little more. You will be more comfortable and thankful you spent the money.

Wearing minimal makeup, a braid, and cute clothes will always help you look great while you exercise. Your body will thank you for making sure you hydrate enough, making it easier to look like you didn’t just come from the gym
