New York in 2010! I saw this image and couldn't resist posting it. I can't wait to go to New York City on the 14th. It's a fashion dream come true! I have to gather all of my winter wear still though, it's a slow and steady process. I can't wait to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, maybe see snow, and of course shop!!! =)

Anyone have suggestions on things to do or wear?

dress warmly in layers.
scarf
gloves/mittens
warm shoes for walking.
sometimes the buildings and avenues act like wind tunnels and it can get bitter cold.

there's so much to see and do.

remember to carry bottled water with you, you will be doing alot of walking and you'll get thirsty..even in the winter.

Thanks Maryanne!
The links are really helpful and the clothing suggestions. I'm trying to find good boots ,but it's hard it FL. I think I might resort to endless.com . I'm very excited for H&M, we don't have them locally, and the food! Thank you again.

hope you enjoy your stay! That subway map link that Maryanne posted is the way to go! The food is immaculate here. tons of cafes, restaurants, food boutiques, etc. 5th ave between 59th and 42nd streets is a must, Madision between 59th and 72nd is dope as well. A lot of out of towner's love Canal Street for the fake handbags and other "high priced goods", SoHo (Broadway between Canal Street and 14th) is always in style....not sure if you'll be with family or friends but, theres always tons of events and the nightlife is cool. check out TimeOut for things to do, some museums on 5th Ave (Museum Mile) have suggested donations, MoMA is a must! you'll enjoy yourself!

We also have Topshop from the UK: 478 Broadway & Broome Streets

macy's herald square store on 34th street between 7th avenue & broadway is another shopping destination.
there's an H&M directly across the street
also Sephora on 34th. and on 5th between 48th & 49th street.

you might think of getting a pair of boots when you come into the city. the sales are amazing at all the stores from the very good ones( Saks, Bergdorf's, Barney's) to the midrange department stores (Bloomingdales, Macy's)
visit their websites to see which boots are in stock at which price.
