Make-up free Dakota Fanning showcases her natural beauty

She may be a member of the Hollywood elite but Dakota Fanning can do understated, too.

The award-winning actress cut a low-key figure when she stepped out for a catch up with her girl friends in Los Angeles, California, on Monday night.

Dakota, 21, looked simply stunning as she slipped into a blue and white floral-printed mini dress which exposed her silky smooth legs for the dinner in the Fairfax District.

The Twilight Saga star teamed the dressed-down look with a pair of nude leather sandals and a brown suede bag.

Flirty in florals: Dakota Fanning showcased the true extent of her natural good looks as she stepped out wearing no make-up and a blue and white patterned dress

She showcased the true extent of her natural good looks as she ditched the make-up and bared her blemish-free skin.

Dakota kept her long blonde locks deliberately unkempt and she smiled sweetly as she made her way home.

Ever the professional, Dakota didn't seem fazed by the paparazzi presence.

Fellow Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst recently praised Dakota's competency with handling the film industry in the way she did at such a young age (she came to prominence at the tender age of seven after her role in 2001 hit, I Am Sam).

'I know some young actresses who are better at [handling Hollywood]. Dakota Fanning reminds me a lot of myself, but she's wiser than I was at her age,' the 33-year-old Golden Globe nominee said in the September edition of Town & Country.

Dakota agrees with Kirsten to some extent and told Nylon in April: 'Sure, I handled myself the best that I could and was professional, but I was also a kid.

'I might not be running around being insane, but I'm also a 21-year-old who likes to be silly. Just because I don't flaunt those parts of my life doesn't mean I don’t do some of that privately, you know what I mean?'

Dakota has four upcoming film projects - Please Stand By, American Pastoral, Brimstone, and the 1980s-set musical Viena and the Fantomes.
