A COUPLE who fell in love after they met on a TV dating show have taken the next step in their fairytale partnership and opened a bridal shop together.

Gemma Gordon, 29, wanted to help other women create their own magical day after she was chosen by Gavin Ellis on ITV’s Take Me Out four years ago.

The pair got hitched soon after they were coupled up and are now putting their expertise together to open a boutique bridalware outlet for brides-to-be at Charnock Farm in Leyland.

Then a single mum-of-two, Gemma did not expect wedding singer Gavin, 30, to choose her out of the 29 other women on the programme in 2011.

But he did, and they were whisked away to a tropical island paradise in Tenerife, Spain as part of the show for their first date.

Gemma and Gavin soon became Mr and Mrs Ellis and now have a 19-month-old baby girl called Elvie-Rose together.

Gemma, of Chorley, Lancashire, who is also mum to Grace, 10, and Olivia, 7, said: “We’ve had the clichéd happy ever after marriage and I want to hear stories of how other couples have got together.

“Every couple has their own story and we want to help make the best day of their lives special for them and give the bride the great service that she deserves.”

The pair celebrated the launch of Brides at Charnock Farm last weekend with bubbly and canapes.

Gavin, is a singer who performs at weddings and Christmas Light Switch-on events and Gemma has a background in sales for bridalware, which has set the two up perfectly for the epic fairytale ending.

The new shop front, which is nestled in between the farm cafe, a garden centre, and a wedding venue, took seven weeks to build before the couple could decorate it, filling it with dresses and artisan jewellery.

It stocks a selection of dresses for brides with budgets from £399 all the way up to £2,000.
