Be careful on how you use the word “Chanel” these days. The Parisian fashion house released a back page note in yesterday’s WWD addressing all “fashion editors, advertisers, copywriters, and otherwell-intentioned mis-users” of the Chanel name. According to themessage, the word "Chanel" should only be described as the woman whocreated the brand, and its perfume, couture, ready-to-wear, andaccessories collections.
