Somewhat unexpectedly, I came into possession of two vintage Lanvin couture red carpet worthy pieces that are quite a valuable commodity, especially if the right celeb stylist gets their hands on them! A hard sell to a mostly on-line customer base, I set out to find a home for these two stunners. My first (and for the moment) only stop was Keni Velenti himself, with whom I spoke once before a number of years ago when I was trying to unload a vintage Zandra Rhodes (similar scenario). For those of you who may not know, Keni is the go-to-king when it comes to vintage couture, so once again he was my obvious first choice. There is a cosmic connection here that I am getting to... so thank you for being patient, while I laid out the scenario. Anyway to make a long story short, in the course of our conversation it becomes evident that not only do we share a common love for couture, but we also share an elevator, lobby, and dry cleaner, as Keni and I have lived in the same building for 17 years (as long as I've been here!). If that's not a New York story worth retelling, than I don't know what is????
