For the most part, I would describe my job picking and sifting through couture day in and day out as pretty exciting stuff, especially for someone who lives and breathes fashion the way I do. But I can see where most people would consider this a tedious, laboursome task that's definitely not a dream job for the masses. Well thank goodness producers from Magilla, the folks who bring us such fashion gems in reality TV as Jersey Couture (which premiers tonight) see things more my way, and are developing a show centered around hunting for couture treasures.

You can only imagine my surprise last week as I was completely caught off guard by a phone call from a Magilla producer asking me if I'd be interested in meeting with him to learn more about the concept of this show. Now, I will reluctantly admit that trashy reality tv is a guilty pleasure, (a fact which I do not openly advertise) an outrageous world so out of my realm, which I look down upon when around my more intellectual friends. Yes, I live a double life! So getting this phone call out of the blue completely threw me for a loop ---.I am not looking for love, and am probably the farthest thing from a basketball wife or a hot-tempered Italian from Jersey who flips tables.... I am just a downtown, fashion-loving mom, who's found a dream job. And, if fashion is the storyline here, well then, sign me up!!!!

Surprisingly, I wasn't in the least bit nervous when I met with the producers this morning. On the contrary, I was completely in my element as they intently listened to everything I had to say, which is not something I can say for the people closest to me, who are sick and tired of hearing about second hand fashion finds. If nothing else, it was refreshing!

Even though the concept for the show isn't fully developed yet, and things in this business change with the direction of the wind, I can only assume nothing will come of it, but nevertheless it was a fun and exciting experience that I was happy to have been a part of!
