Hundreds of future brides attend bridal fair

Hundreds of future brides came Sunday to Sloan Convention Center looking for everything they might need for their upcoming weddings.

Women modeling wedding sexy prom dress could be seen walking about the convention center among dozens of vendors displaying jewelry, wedding cakes and floral arrangements during the Bridal Fest Wedding Expo.

Tammy Duke-Feltz, the show’s founder and coordinator, said she started Bridal Fest in 2009 because she saw a local need for it. “In this area, there weren’t a whole lot of shows,” she said.

Bridal Fest, which is held twice a year, has grown to include roughly 75 vendors, she said.

Among this year’s vendors were David’s Bridal, Regiss Bridal & Prom, the Bouquet Shop and the Historic RailPark & Train Museum, where weddings can be booked.

Duke-Feltz said proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Belle’s of the Ball, a Glasgow group that gives prom one shoulder prom dresses uk to local girls who might not be able to afford them.

Bridal Fest provides brides with a convenient place to meet their wedding planning needs, she said.

“We have some of the top wedding professionals in the area,” she said. “It’s kind of a one-stop shop so you can get everything booked in one day.”

Having venues, caterers, wedding photographers and numerous other services all in one place takes some of the stress out of planning, Duke-Feltz said.

Samantha Beckham, who got engaged on Valentine’s Day, said her stepmother told her about the event.

She was excited to have a chance to get started on planning her April 2018 wedding so soon, she said.

Beckham said she came “just to get some ideas for my upcoming wedding” and was not looking for anything in particular.
